My Teaching Approach
As an
educator, my goal is to inspire students to think critically about how design
shapes culture while equipping them with the tools to innovate and succeed in
professional environments. In the past year, I have been developing a interaction design cirriculum grounded in systems of sustainability
that mirror the approaches I use in my professional practice with clients. I
bring my research into the classroom by framing generative AI as “just
another design tool” that students are encouraged to critically experiment with
under structured constraints.
Across all of my courses, I foster a process-oriented approach in which exploration, iteration, and even “failure” are valued as essential to learning. Whether through traditional media, emerging technologies, or collaborative practices, I push students to use design as a storytelling tool that makes cultural narratives and social impact visible. By centering critical inquiry alongside technical proficiency, I encourage students to stay curious, communicate with clarity and confidence, and develop a sense of purpose that extends beyond commercial applications toward socially-engaged design.
